Lary Alan Rappaport is a partner in the Litigation Department, and a member of the Trial Strategies, Bankruptcy, and Privacy and Cybersecurity practices.
Lary is an experienced trial lawyer who represents clients in complex business disputes across a spectrum of industries, and has tried dozens of cases in federal and state courts and before various arbitration tribunals.
In the past few years, Lary has been an integral part of the litigation team that represents the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico related to the financial restructuring of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its instrumentalities. In addition, he participated in two successful plan confirmation trials in the Energy Future Holdings bankruptcy.
Lary has also handled a variety of disputes for talent agencies, entertainment companies, professional sports teams and law firms. He has represented retail companies in a variety of matters, including federal and state consumer class actions alleging violation of privacy, false advertising and unfair competition laws. Lary obtained dismissal of a federal class action asserting violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and Stored Communications Act, and a subsequent state class action alleging violation of the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act and trespass to chattels.
